Encaustic painting is a unique and dynamic technique that incorporates pigmented bee’s wax, which is heated, layered, compressed and re-worked to achieve dimensional depth. As each layer cools, another is applied, resulting in a radiant and complex terrain of light, colour and texture.
To care for an encaustic artwork, remove dust and fingerprints by buffing with a soft cloth. Do not use cleaning products or solvents. Do not display or store near heating appliances, candles or flames. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and avoid scratching the surface.
