Ann Krause – DNA

Ann Krause is a jewellery maker who was born in London, travelled to Australia by boat and then lived in Geelong. She surfed the south coast, worked in the fashion industry and owned her own funky boutique during the 1980’s.

Ann has a long family connection to the fashion industry and hand-painted garments with vibrant colours. She has participated in private painting and jewelry making tuition and TAFE certificates in textile arts.

Ann’s work is influenced by the bush and ocean environments. Her early adult career was supported and encouraged by a dedicated group of artist friends in Geelong. The brass and copper earrings created for the Mud Gallery have been hand cut to organic shapes and heated to achieve an altered state of colouring. Some are then embellished with beads and other additions.
